In this mini series of botanicals, I’ve been layering up washes, complementary colours and expressive marks to bring movement and energy to my works, using botanical arrangements as inspiration to really cut loose on low-stakes small scale canvases and paper. I’ve used this series as a space to experiment — testing new approaches that will inform a larger body of work to come. These pieces mark a stage of playful exploration and growth.
